Vātsya Varadācarya’s Yatirājavijayanāṭaka (aka Vēdāntavilāsa‧nāṭaka) is an ‘allegorical’ play along the model of Kṛṣṇamiśra’s Prabōdhacandrōdaya and Veṅkaṭanātha’s Saṅkalpasūryōdaya. It describes the rescue and amelioration of King Scripture (Vēdamauli), by Rāmānuja assisted by Ratiocination (Sadūha), from the clutches of Wrong Doctrine (Advaita) and other such ‘evil’ characters. The prelude describes it as being performed at the Caitrotsava festival of the Raṅganātha temple, Śrīraṅgam.
