Shubha Shanthamurthy obtained her PhD in 2020 from SOAS for her work on the self-representation of the Śivabhakta, representations of social and religious identity of the individual and of the Deccan Śaiva religious community in the first half of the second millennium, based on Kannada, Telugu and Tamil sources.
