The Yāpparuṅkalakkārikai is a text on Tamil prosody and metrics. It is one of two works on the subject composed by Amitacākarar, the other one being Yāpparuṅkalam. According to Niklas (1993), the Yāpparuṅkalam was composed before the Yāpparuṅkalakkārikai. Both were written "between the second half of the 10th c. AD and the beginning of the 11th c. AD" (Niklas 1993: III).
