Country paper, thick, rough, grey; Devanāgarī characters; handwriting big, beautiful, and uniform; key phrases smeared with red chalk; punctuation marks in red ink; ms. contains special mantras symbolizing various states of paramahaṃsa-hood; these states are: saccidānanda. anīla, mahānīla, enīla, datta, kumāra, sanaka, sanandana, sanatkumāra, sveta, rohiṇyā, jaḍabharata, datta, ūrdhvāmnāya, nirālaṃba, altogether 16; why the ms. should be called dvādaśaparamahaṃsa instead of ṣoḍaśaparamahaṃsa in view of sixteen paramahaṃsas described is difficult to explain.
