ID: 41851
Full name: Rasopaniṣad
Language: Sanskrit
Discipline: Vaidyaśāstra
Story:
- The Rasopaniṣad is an anonymous alchemical treatise that is mainly concerned with the transmutation of base metals into gold and silver by means of processed mercury (lohasiddhi); rasāyana and dehasiddhi are important subjects in the last few chapters. The Rasopaniṣad is composed in the form of a conversation between Śiva and Parvatī. The work may have formed part of a larger work, called Mahodadhi, unless Mahodadhi be an alternative title of the Rasopaniṣad. -- Meulenbeld, HIML, IIA, 732.
