Story:
  • Check Mīmāṁsaka 1949, p.155–158 for a detailed account of Dayananda Sarasvati's edition of the Varṇoccāraṇaśikṣā. Dayananda Sarasvati's first edition was published in 1880 (by the end of Vikrama Saṃvat 1936) from Kashi. The edition is based on a manuscript that he acquired by the end of 1879. He completed this edition on Vikrama Saṃvat 1936 Māgha Śuklā Caturthī, on Saturday (February 14, 1980). However, this edition had several errors. The errors were corrected by Paṇḍita Bhīmasena and Jvalādatta in the second edition, which was published in Vikrama Saṃvat 1941 (1884–1885 AD) after the death of Dayānanda Sarasvatī.
