Nēminātha was a disciple of Vīraṇandi Saiddhāntika,and wrote a Kannada commentary (ṭīke, vṛtti) on Somadēvasūri’s Nītivākyāmṛta (NVA). In his NVA-ṭīke, Nēminātha mentions a certain Rāṃacandra municandra of Haḷēbīḍŭ, who was also a teacher of Janna(ca. 1160 – 1230 CE). NN was earlier a diplomat (sandhivigrahi) possibly in the Śilāhāra court at Kōḍōli, Maharashtra, and he wrote his commentary after retiring, under the patronage of a certain Rāṃacandra municandra of Haḷēbīḍŭ.
