Ponnammayya | Punnamārya, along with his brother Mallappa served as a general under the Cālukya Taila II . The brothers were disciples of Jinacandra of the Kānūr gaṇa and commissioned the Śāntipurāṇam [SP] by Ponna in honour of the former.
